SIMPLE AND CONVENIENT! Living Voices programs are simple presentations designed to be presented in a variety of spaces using common video equipment.
Currently, Living Voices performers are prepared to use any of three different formats: VHS, DVD, or Windows Media Files.
VHS Though rapidly fading as a way of playing video, VHS is still the most reliable format. We're prepared to play a VHS tape either on a monitor or video projector.
DVD DVD technology is still new and changing. The reliability of most DVD players varies widely and DVDs will sometimes freeze and skip. If you are using a newer DVD player you should be okay but, please, make sure it is clean.
Please Note: Computers are NOT good DVD players.
COMPUTERS Computers can play media files! Playback of our media file formats (WMV and MPG) has been very successful on most computers. We can also make these files available before your booking so that you can test your system.
GOOD NEWS FOR MAC / APPLE COMPUTER USERS: Our video files are in Windows format BUT YOU CAN CONVERT WINDOWS VIDEO FILES for your Mac! Microsoft offers a free program called FLIP 4 MAC. This program will take a .WMV file and convert it. Here is the link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx
Please install this program on your computer before your actor arrives. On the day of the program your actor will give you a copy of the show as a .WMV file. Copy that file to your Mac then use FLIP 4 MAC to convert it. If you would like to test this ahead of time please contact Living Voices' office and we'll send you a copy of your show as a .WMV file so you can test it before the actor arrives.
IF YOU USE A COMPUTER/LAPTOP, PLEASE REMEMBER TO: * Turn off your screen saver. * Turn off your Outlook or any email program. * Be sure your computer is not connected to any network or the internet. * Be sure there are no other programs running in the background.
